Professional resume + Expertise

Marcos Tascon is an Analytical Chemist from Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina in 2010. In 2015 he obtained his PhD in Analytical Chemistry at Universidad Nacional de La Plata. During this period, he did two research stays as visiting PhD student in the Bioanalysis laboratory at the University of Barcelona, Spain. The focus of the research was the development of on-line solid-phase extraction methods and technologies for capillary electrophoresis coupled to mass spectrometry. Then, in 2016, Marcos Joined Pawliszyn’s lab at University of Waterloo as a postdoctoral fellow. His research focus was the development of SPME-MS interfaces and its applications to bioanalysis, environment and clinical chemistry. At the beginning of 2018 he became Associate Professor at Universidad Nacional de San Martin and Associate Researcher at CONICET. Currently, Marcos has about 40 publications in prestigious journals of the field, 2 patents, 2 book chapters and more than 60 presentations in international conferences. Besides, he has been reviewer since 2016 for several international journals. Currently, his main research interests are the development of micro- and non-invasive techniques of analysis for fast characterization of compounds in the field of environmental sciences and cultural heritage.

Expertice: Analytical Separations (LC, GC, CE), mass spectrometry, Bioanalysis, Environmental analysis, solid-phase microextraction.
