He has a degree in Biological Sciences (FCEyN, UBA) and a PhD from the University of Buenos Aires. He has carried out specialization studies in fisheries at Oregon State University (USA) where he obtained a Master's degree in Fisheries and Wildlife. He received the Fulbright and Encyclopedia Britannica scholarships and the Skinner Award from the American Fisheries Society. He is a Principal Investigator of CONICET and currently directs the Laboratory of Applied Fisheries Ecology at the Institute of Research and Environmental Engineering (3iA) of the National University of San Martín. He has taught courses on fisheries in various universities such as Comahue, Buenos Aires, Litoral, CAECE, CENTRO, La Plata, Patagonia, Iowa, Venezuela, Antioquia, etc., having published over 70 scientific papers in indexed journals, about 40 parts of books and presented papers in over 200 national and international conferences. He has also participated in several research projects for national and international organizations (Trinational Pilcomayo Commission, FREPLATA, FAO, CTM, EBY, Wetlands International, etc.) linked to transboundary basins. His areas of expertise are related to the impact of hydrotechnical works on fish and fisheries, management of small-scale fisheries, ecological knowledge of fishermen, freshwater fisheries, migratory fish. inland fisheries samplings.
